IOM - 2011. "The Republic of Korea is actively focusing on issues of migration, as indicated through the rise of immigration into the country, and the formation or revision of many laws, policies and programmes. In 2009, IOM and government of Korea established the IOM Migration Research and Training Centre (MRTC) to serve as a focal point and definitive resource on migration research, training and network enhancement for Korea and the region. This document is the first full translation of the 2nd Edition of the Glossary, and the result of one the MRTC’s project activities in 2011. This Korean translation provides an essential resource for Koreans, as well as for others with a need to understand and accurately cross reference Korean and English migration terminology. The glossary entries are alphabetized and fully presented in Korean, and the document includes a cross-referencing index alphabetized in English, to maximize its usefulness. "

IOM - 2012. "Regional Consultative Processes on Migration (RCPs) are important mechanisms that foster inter-State cooperation and partnership on migration issues by bringing States together for informal, non-binding dialogue at the regional level. RCPs carry out a number of functions, including information exchange and sharing of good practices by participating governments and other stakeholders on effective migration management. In line with the growing interest in promoting cooperation across regions and in the cross-fertilization of ideas and practices among RCPs, the Government of the Republic of Botswana and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) hosted the Third Global Meeting of Chairs and Secretariats of RCPs under the broad theme of “Enhancing Cooperation on Migration through Dialogue and Capacity-building” in Gaborone, Botswana on 25–26 October 2011."

MPI - 2011. "Migration and development have become a pressing policy priority on the global agenda over the past decade, and a number of revisions to conventional thinking on the subject have gained traction and yielded innovative — albeit in many cases yet unproven — policies and programs. This brief identifies critical lessons from the past decade of policy experimentation and offers some recommendations for policy moving forward."

IOM - 2011. "The Many Faces of Global Migration report is an introduction to what Gallup has unearthed by asking migrants and potential migrants worldwide about their lives. The data presented in this report are based on Gallup’s ongoing World Poll surveys in more than 150 countries, territories and regions and more than 750,000 interviews since 2005. As such, these findings provide an unprecedented look at the different push-and-pull factors that influence migration, the experiences of those who desire to migrate to other countries permanently or temporarily for work, those who are planning to go, those who are preparing to go, those who have already left, and those who have returned home – and what this means for governments, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders."

MPI - 2011. "Climate change is a new driver of human migration, and is expected by many to dwarf all other factors in its impact. But while there is growing concern about climate change, far less agreement exists about what kinds of effects will be felt where, by whom, and precisely when. Human displacement is a result of a complex mix of factors, and some of the more commonly repeated predictions of the numbers of people who will be displaced by climate change are not informed by a full understanding of the dynamics of migration. This report analyzes the salient mechanisms of displacement: sea level rise, higher temperatures, disruption of water cycles, and increasing severity of storms. It also examines the ensuing migration responses and proposes recommendations to offset the severity of displacement. "

ILO - 2011. "These are the stories of Indonesian migrant domestic workers and their families whose realities turn out to be far removed from their dreams. Their stories have became familiar to us through TV screens and newspaper headlines over the last few years. But in spite of the hardships and unbearable suffering they have endured, they refuse to be defeated, and they continue to speak out publicly for the sake of saving other migrant domestic workers from the same fate."

The report International Migration 2010 cites UN estimates of a total of 214 million migrants globally, consisting of 3% of the world’s total population. Increasing rapidly, the number of migrants globally by 2050 could reach above 400 million. In 2009 alone, the UN estimates these migrant workers formally remitted at least 414 billion US dollars, most to developing countries. Focusing in on Asia, estimates suggest this continent was, in 2010, home to more than 27.5 million migrants or 13% of the total global figure (IOM, 2010).

Global Environmental Change - 2011. This journal article from Global Environmental Change discuss the topic and relation between migration and climate change. "Environmental migration is a topic which has given rise to widespread debate and gloomy predictions
about the state of the world in 2050, but where rigorous research and empirical evidence are
unfortunately in short supply. In this paper, we review the existing research on and empirical evidence of
how climate change and climate variability in Less Developed Countries (LDCs) affects two main drivers
of migration identified by migration models in the economic literature, namely income level differentials
between origin and destination areas and income variability in origin areas, and how they in turn affect
migration." (excerpt from abstract)
