Khmer Times, Cambodia, 30 August 2021 - At least seven migrant workers and a child were repatriated to Cambodia yesterday evening after intervention by the Cambodian embassy in Malaysia, according to the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

The eight landed at the Phnom Penh International Airport yesterday evening on a flight from Singapore while another woman worker is due to arrive at the Phnom Penh International Airport later this evening, said ministry spokesman Koy Kuong.

He said: “The Cambodian embassy also issued travel documents to some of them who had no passports and it gave them food and some money to survive with while they were awaiting their return.”

They were sent off at the Kuala Lumpur International airport by embassy officials, said Kuong.
