The second day of the event focused on the thematic areas, namely migration and anti-human trafficking. The group also agreed on a niche, topics, themes, products and services for AP-MagNet.

These are the background presentations from the second day. Mr Graziano Batistella from the Scalabrini Migration Center in Manila presented an overview of migration on a global level. Ms Thetis Mangahas, Deputy Regional Director for ILO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific then presented an overview of migration in Asia and the Pacific. Mr. Nilim Baruah who is the Chief Technical Adviser for the GMS project on labour exploitation, TRIANGLE then reviewed the challenges in different stages of the migration cycle.

    Visioning Event

    The Visioning Event for AP Migration (formerly known as AP-MagNet) took place in Chiang Mai on October 25-27, 2010 and it brought together 38 migration and anti-human trafficking experts and practitioners from ILO's tripartite constituents from seven countries, experts, UN agencies, International Organizations, NGOs and ILO staff working on migration and anti-human trafficking.
