Migration Policy Practice, Vol II, no. 6, December 2012 - January 2013

— theme: Migration and development
— country: Global
— type: Journal Articles

January 2013 - IOM/Eurasylum. Migration Policy Practice is a bimonthly journal published jointly by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Eurasylum Ltd. Three of the articles in this issue focus on migration and development. The first article discusses the case of a country, Jamaica, which is pioneering the mainstreaming of migration into its national development plan. This is a theme that will be discussed this year at the second United Nations High-level Dialogue on International Migration and Development to be held in New York. The second article focuses on the post-2015 global development framework and outlines the case for including migration and health in any new agenda for sustainable development. The third article on migration and development reminds us of the important contributions that migration can make to local development. The final article in this issue of MPP discusses a subject that has become increasingly important for policymakers since the 11 September terrorist attacks – migration and security.
